How Does REVOLUTION Work?

REVOLUTION seeps through the skin into the bloodstream. When this product is present in the blood, it prevents and treats hookworm and roundworm infections. It distributes through the blood, into the skin and other tissues, to protect pets against ear mites, fleas, and flea eggs.

Frontline Plus:

Frontline Plus is a topical ointment applied in one location that is designed to treat and prevent ticks, fleas, and lice for cats and dogs. The primary difference in this product is it does not protect against heartworm, but it is targeted toward a larger spectrum of ticks.

Heartworm is a serious condition that is often spread by mosquitoes. It is widely common in the U.S. and has been identified in all 50 states. Treating this condition can be costly, complex, and highly involved. This makes prevention a more desirable option. If you are using Frontline Plus to prevent fleas and ticks, you will need to also use Heartgard, which is a heartworm preventive.

Revolution and Frontline Plus work quickly to help manage fleas, as well as kill the egg and adult stages of the lifecycle. However, Revolution is touted as controlling the American dog tick, while Frontline Plus is focused on the American dog tick, brown dog tick, deer ticks, and lone star tick.

We encourage pet owners living in areas where ticks are a frequent problem or where pets are outdoors more often to use Frontline Plus in conjunction with Heartgard Plus for full protection.
