Pet Eye Care and Veterinary Ophthalmology

At Metropolitan Veterinary Center, we have experience treating a variety of eye problems in pets. These can include corneal ulcers, glaucoma, cataracts, tumors, cherry eye, and infections. Checking for these and other conditions is part of every wellness appointment to ensure optimal eye health.

If your pet is showing obvious signs of eye problems, we encourage you to contact us immediately.

These symptoms can include:

  • Redness
  • Unusual discharge
  • Irregular pupils
  • Squinting or avoiding light
  • Swelling
  • Repeated rubbing

Depending on the cause of your pet’s issues, immediate treatment may be required to protect their vision for the future.

Medicated drops are among the most common treatment methods for pet eye problems. In some situations, referral to a specialist or surgery may be needed.

If you notice your pet is dealing with any of the aforementioned symptoms, contact MetroVet. Our veterinarians are experienced in eye care and can help your pet with most eye conditions.
