Meet Our Team

Dr. Mageed grew up in Florida and spent summers with her family in Egypt. She has worked with both wildlife and small animals while attending Florida State University. After graduation, she lived in Egypt working with horses around Cairo.

Originally from New England, Kelsey moved to Chicago in 2010 to complete her Bachelor’s Degree at Columbia College.

Alex graduated from Fox College and obtained her license as a Veterinary Technician after realizing that working with animals was the path for her. She is currently taking classes to be a Veterinarian. She grew up with animals her whole life but has a special love for horses.

Bianca graduated from high school at J. Sterling Morton East and went straight to Fox College Vet Tech Institute and obtained her degree in Applied Science. Growing up she had all kinds of family pets including fish, a bearded dragon, turtles, and of course dogs!

Vanessa has been at MetroVet since 2018 as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She graduated from Fox College with her Associate’s in Applied Science and received her Veterinary Technician License in Illinois.

Jordyn graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Wildlife and Environmental Sciences. She’s grown up with cats, hamsters, turtles, ferrets, and fish. She now lives in Chicago with her husband, their dog named Stella, and their cat named Wednesday (pictured here).

Gerardo attended Animal Behavior College and is a Certified Dog Trainer. In addition to his work at Metro Vet he does pet sitting, dog walking and dog training. During his free time he loves to hang out with his wife, 2 kids, and their retriever mix dog, Charlie (pictured here).

Jennifer has been at MetroVet since 2020 as a customer service representative. She was quickly promoted to our CSR supervisor with her vision for positive change and wanting to help lead her team of CSR’s was realized.

Karina Peña is one of our customer service representatives here at Metropolitan Veterinary center. Since as far back as the 4th grade, Karina can remember dreaming about working in the veterinary field.

Jeannina was born in Chicago but grew up in Costa Rica. She is currently finishing her Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management and Biomedical Engineering degree at Illinois Tech. Jeannina also recently became a Licensed Bartender.
